10th Annual Historic Gettysburg Homeschool Graduation Ceremony

Postmark Deadline for Registration: February 29, 2008
Registration Form and full details available below.

Dear Graduate of the Class of 2008 and Family,

We are very glad you are interested in graduating at the 10th Annual Historic Gettysburg Homeschool Graduation Ceremony. It is designed to give you an extra-special commencement experience that you will always treasure. All homeschool seniors are welcome to participate regardless of what program or curriculum they have used, the
source of their diploma, or where they reside.

The date for the 2008 ceremony is Sunday, June 8th. The excitement is brewing as plans get underway! We are very excited to be hosting our 10th Annual event at a new venue, the Grand Ballroom of the Historic Gettysburg Hotel.

For over two centuries, the Best Western Gettysburg Hotel has played host to prominent national and international figures. Distinguished names such as President and Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Carl Sandburg, Henry Ford, General Ulysses S. Grant and Daniel Webster have enjoyed our attentive hospitality. During the Civil War, the Best Western Gettysburg Hotel witnessed the thunderous Battle of Gettysburg.

Across from its doors, at the Wills House, President Abraham Lincoln completed the stirring Gettysburg Address. At the height of the Cold War, as President Eisenhower convalesced at his Gettysburg home, the Best Western Gettysburg Hotel served as the president's national operations center.

This is not your ordinary high school graduation ceremony! It is a living history celebration! Our historical speaker once again is nationally-acclaimed Lincoln historian and portrayer, James Getty, who will speak to us as America’s beloved 16th President. Civil War-era music will be performed by professional period re-enactors in historic outfits.

Our commencement speaker is always a nationally-profiled individual whose remarks will encourage and challenge you.

Space is limited, so please register early to ensure availability. We hope you will share in the festivities in celebration of your momentous accomplishment!

See you in Historic Gettysburg!

Wendy J. Bush
Executive Director, The Excelsior Academy
